I’m scheduled for trichiasis surgery soon. How long does it usually take to fully recover, and when can I expect my eyelid to feel normal again?
Recovery time varies depending on whether it’s laser, cryotherapy, or surgery, but usually it’s a few weeks for full healing. I had mild discomfort for about two weeks, and by the fourth week, my eyelid felt completely back to normal.
Most trichiasis surgeries have a short downtime, usually a few days to a week, with full recovery in around 10–14 days. I remember my eye being watery for a few days, but after that, it felt much more comfortable than before surgery.
