What are the early signs of diabetic retinopathy?

My cousin, who has diabetes, began to notice small dark spots in her eyes and blurred vision. She initially disregarded it, assuming it was simply fatigue. However, when it persisted, she made the decision to have it examined.

She went to the Global Ubal Eye Center, where she was diagnosed with early-stage diabetic retinopathy by Dr. Heecheol Bae and the team, which included Dr. Youngmin Kim and Dr. Shinyoung Hwang. Her vision is now stable and under close observation as a result of their prompt care and assistance.

Diabetic retinopathy occurs when diabetes affects the retina. It may start with blurry vision or floaters, but sometimes you won’t feel anything. Eye exams can reveal changes before they’re noticeable. In my experience, controlling blood sugar and staying consistent with check-ups is key to prevention.
