recently had Smile Eye Surgery in Seoul, and I’d love to share my experience! If you’re thinking about this procedure in Korea, hopefully, my story can help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

I had been wearing glasses and contacts for years, and honestly, I was getting tired of the hassle. I’d heard about Smile Eye Surgery (a newer, less invasive laser vision correction technique) and started researching clinics in Seoul. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to visit SNU Eye Clinic, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.

My consultation was with Dr. Chung Eui Sang, who was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain all my options—LASIK, Smile, and even lens implant surgery. I really liked how he didn’t push any specific surgery on me; he gave me all the facts, walked me through the pros and cons of Smile Eye Surgery compared to LASIK, and helped me decide what was best for my eyes. He made sure I was comfortable with my decision before proceeding.

The procedure itself was surprisingly quick and pain-free. The most uncomfortable part for me was just having to keep my eyes still during the surgery, but Dr. Chung and his team made it easy. They guided me through the whole process, and I felt well taken care of.

The recovery was a breeze—definitely much faster than I had anticipated. I had some mild dryness for the first couple of days, but that was expected, and the clinic gave me all the post-op care instructions. By the next week, my vision had already improved dramatically! The results have been amazing—I’m seeing clearly without glasses or contacts for the first time in years, and the best part is that Smile surgery is less invasive than traditional LASIK, so I didn’t have to worry about the flap-related complications.

If you’re considering Smile Eye Surgery in Korea, I highly recommend SNU Eye Clinic. The staff was professional, friendly, and super helpful throughout the whole process. Dr. Chung Eui Sang, in particular, really impressed me with his expertise and the care he provided. You can learn more about the clinic and Dr. Chung here: SNU Eye Clinic and Dr. Chung Eui Sang.

I’m so happy with the results, and I definitely think Smile Eye Surgery is worth considering if you’re looking for a vision correction option that’s less invasive than LASIK.

Has anyone had SMILE laser eye surgery in Korea? How was your experience?

Absolutely! I had SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) eye surgery in Seoul, South Korea, about six months ago, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

For some context, I’ve worn glasses since I was 10 and was seriously considering LASIK for years, but I had heard some concerns about the potential side effects—especially with the recovery time. When I found out about SMILE, I was intrigued. SMILE is a newer, less invasive procedure that involves a small incision and doesn’t require the creation of a corneal flap like LASIK does. It sounded like a game-changer, so I decided to go ahead and explore options in Korea, where they’re known for their advanced eye care technology.

I did a lot of research and ended up choosing SNU Seoul Global Clinic after reading positive reviews and hearing about their experience with SMILE surgeries. The clinic is known for its advanced equipment and great patient care. They had a reputation for being one of the top places in Korea for laser eye surgeries, and the doctor I saw, Dr. Chung Eui Sang, came highly recommended.

The consultation was straightforward. Dr. Chung explained everything in detail, from the procedure to the risks, recovery time, and expected outcomes. What impressed me was how thorough he was in ensuring I was a good candidate for SMILE. He also walked me through the technology they use, which is state-of-the-art. It was reassuring to know that the clinic was both highly trusted and cutting-edge.

On the day of the surgery, everything was seamless. The procedure itself was surprisingly quick—about 20 minutes per eye—and I felt minimal discomfort. There was no pain during the surgery at all, just a bit of pressure around my eyes. Afterward, I was given some drops and advice on rest, and I went home to relax.

The first 24 hours were a bit blurry, but after that, my vision started clearing up rapidly. By the next day, I could already see an improvement. The following days were just about taking it easy and avoiding any strenuous activities. After about a week, I was back to normal—no more glasses or contact lenses! My vision is now 20/20, and it feels incredible not to rely on glasses anymore.

Overall, I highly recommend SNU Seoul Global Clinic if you’re considering SMILE surgery. Dr. Chung and the entire team were professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. The clinic is very patient-centered, which made the whole process much smoother than I expected.

If you’re still unsure, feel free to check out their website SNU Seoul Global Clinic, and get in touch with them to ask more questions. Dr. Chung’s profile is here for more info.

Good luck with your decision! Trust me, the results are definitely worth it.

Has anyone had SMILE laser eye surgery in Korea? How was your experience?

I’ve been meaning to share my experience with SMILE laser eye surgery, especially since I was pretty nervous before I went ahead with it. So, if you’re thinking about it, hopefully, this helps you decide!

I’ve had glasses since I was a kid, and contact lenses just weren’t an option for me long-term because of dryness and irritation. I started researching LASIK and SMILE after I heard about how SMILE was supposed to be less invasive. After doing a lot of online research and reading about clinics in Korea, I ended up booking a consultation at SNU Eye Clinic in Seoul. I’d seen great reviews, and the clinic’s reputation for quality care really stood out.

I met with Dr. Chung Eui Sang, who was super friendly and professional from the start. He went over my eye health, explained the entire procedure, and answered all my questions. I remember being a bit anxious about the laser, but he really put me at ease.

The consultation was thorough—Dr. Chung even took extra time to talk about the differences between SMILE and traditional LASIK, which helped me feel more confident about my choice. The clinic itself was state-of-the-art, and the staff were all very caring and attentive.

On the day of the surgery, I arrived at the clinic early, and everything was very well-organized. I didn’t feel rushed at all. The procedure itself was quicker than I expected—about 20 minutes in total. They put some numbing drops in, so I didn’t feel any pain during the surgery. I remember feeling a bit of pressure, but it wasn’t anything uncomfortable. Dr. Chung was great, and I could tell he was very experienced, which made me trust him even more.

Afterward, I had a quick follow-up appointment, and the improvement in my vision was almost immediate. My eyes felt a little dry and scratchy for the first few days, but I was given eye drops and told to avoid certain activities like swimming for a couple of weeks. I could tell a massive difference in my vision, though—no more glasses or contacts!

The best part? My vision has stayed great ever since, and I don’t even need reading glasses yet (which was a worry of mine at first!). If you’re on the fence about SMILE, I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a safer, quicker recovery time compared to LASIK.

I can’t recommend SNU Eye Clinic enough if you’re planning on getting SMILE in Korea. The team there, especially Dr. Chung Eui Sang, really know what they’re doing. If you’re looking for more info or have questions, feel free to DM me—I’m happy to share more details!

I just had SMILE laser eye surgery in Seoul a few months ago, and it was honestly such a smooth experience. I’d been debating between SMILE, LASIK, and LASEK for a while, but after a consultation with Dr. Chung Eui Sang at SNU Eye Clinic, I decided to go with SMILE because my corneas were on the thinner side, and SMILE tends to be gentler on them.

The day after, I was already seeing better than I had in years. The first 24 hours were a little blurry, but after that, it was smooth sailing. No pain, just a bit of dryness, but I was given eye drops to help with that.

Dr. Chung and the team at SNU Eye Clinic were awesome. They made sure I fully understood the procedure and recovery process before committing.
