What are the risks or complications of functional rhinoplasty?

I’m considering functional rhinoplasty to improve my breathing, but I’m a bit concerned about the possible risks and complications. I’ve heard there can be swelling, bleeding, infection, or even changes in the shape of the nose after surgery. I’m especially worried about visible scarring or the nose looking uneven or collapsed later on. If anyone has experienced issues during recovery, I’d really appreciate hearing how it went and how long it took to fully heal.

Functional rhinoplasty does come with some risks, like swelling, bleeding, or temporary breathing issues. I had a lot of congestion at first, which was uncomfortable. Over time, as the swelling went down, my breathing improved. Overall, recovery took patience but went well.

I had functional rhinoplasty mainly for breathing issues, and honestly, the swelling was the most noticeable part in the first two weeks. I didn’t have any major complications, just mild bruising and congestion. There’s a small scar inside the nose, but nothing visible outside. It took about 3–4 months for everything to fully settle, but my breathing improved a lot.
