I’m planning for a bigger plastic surgery procedure and want to be fully prepared. Can anyone share what the recovery timeline looks like, including the first few days, weeks, and any challenges during healing.
The first few days were mostly swelling, bruising, and just resting. It wasn’t very painful, but definitely uncomfortable. By the second week, I felt better, but still looked a bit swollen. Around a month, things started looking more normal.
I had a combination procedure, and recovery was definitely a journey. The first few days felt like a blur mostly sleeping, taking meds, and trying to stay comfortable. Swelling and tightness were the main things I noticed. By the second week, I could move around more, but I still needed to take it easy. Around a month in, I looked much more presentable, but internal healing was still happening. One thing I didn’t expect was how long minor swelling can stick around.
Biggest challenge was patience. The first few days were uncomfortable, then slow improvement over weeks. I’d say around a month is when you feel more confident again.
My cousin recently went through this, and I noticed her recovery had phases. The first phase (first week) was all about managing swelling and just getting through the discomfort. The second phase (weeks 2–3) was when she started regaining energy but still didn’t feel 100% confident about her appearance. By about a month, she was much happier with how things looked, but even then, subtle changes kept happening. She said the hardest part was trusting the process.
